This Buddy Deserves A Chance ~
Buddy was found limping along the side of a nasty highway, malnourished and barely able to walk with a badly infected paw. The moment the car door opened, he jumped in and heaved a deep sigh, as if to say, "Oh thank God! I'm not going to die today."

On Tuesday, April 29th, Buddy went back to the Doc for a biopsy. The result of that visit was one toe removed and samples taken for the biopsy to determine if there's more than just the an infection.
Our hope (and the Doc's optimistic opinion) is that we can kill the infection and Buddy will merely have one 4-toed paw...and live healthy and happy from here on out. Once we know more (biopsy results), we'll be able to determine what else may be needed. For now, we're taking it one step at a time.
I've set up this fund so we can get some financial assistance from any Critter Angels out there who'd like to help.


BUDDY'S UPDATE~ (6/16/08)
Well, it's been nearly 2 months since Buddy came to live with us. His progress continues and he's even begun to grow a new pad on his worst toe. Weight gain is slow, but seems to be holding steady, but the thing that seems most obvious is his attitude. The Boy is just beaming! He's got a new home, with grass and lots of room to roam, and his new neighbor adds even more exercise to the mix. All in all, Buddy's progress is miraculous...and we are ALL grateful for this wonderful miracle. The Vet bill is down to $200, with just a few more tests to run next month, but we're still trying to finish off this last bit of payments and start fresh. Please lend a hand, if you are able. We're utterly grateful for ALL of the help we've gotten...and continue to get!
